Vanuatu

Vanuatu is a Y-shaped chain of about 80 volcanic islands in the South Pacific, northeast of New Caledonia. Jointly ruled by Britain and France until independence in 1980, it has more languages per person than almost any other country.

Red for the blood of the people, green for the islands, black for the Ni-Vanuatu. The gold Y follows the island chain; the boar's tusk and fern stand for prosperity and peace. Adopted in 1980.
