Tonga

Tonga is a Polynesian kingdom of about 170 islands in the South Pacific, 45 of them inhabited. It was a British protectorate but never formally colonised, became fully independent in 1970, and is the last monarchy in the Pacific islands.

Red for the blood of Christ and the white canton with its red cross for the country's Christian faith. The constitution says the flag may never be changed. Adopted in 1875.
