Palestine

Palestine is made up of two territories separated by Israel: the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. Declared a state in 1988, it has been a United Nations observer state since 2012. The UN regards both territories as occupied by Israel since 1967; the map follows the lines it recognises.
