Lebanon

Lebanon is a small country on the eastern Mediterranean coast, between Syria and Israel. Its shore held the Phoenician ports of Byblos, Tyre and Sidon, and the Mount Lebanon range rises steeply behind it. It became independent from the French mandate in 1943.
