Honduras

Honduras is a mountainous Central American country with a long Caribbean coast and a short stretch on the Pacific. Independent from Spain since 1821, it built its early economy on bananas and today also exports coffee and textiles.

The two blue stripes stand for the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, white for the land and peace between them. The five stars recall the old Federal Republic of Central America. Turquoise has been the official shade since 2022.
