Guyana

Guyana is a country of rainforest and rivers on the north coast of South America, the only one on the continent where English is the official language. Independent from Britain since 1966, it has boomed on offshore oil since 2019. Venezuela claims the Essequibo region; the map follows the recognised border.

Known as the Golden Arrowhead: green for the forests, yellow for mineral wealth, red for zeal, with white and black edges for rivers and endurance. Adopted in 1966.
