Ecuador

Ecuador is a country on the Pacific coast of South America, named after the equator that crosses it just north of the capital, Quito. It fits Pacific beaches, Andean volcanoes and Amazon rainforest into a small area, and its Galápagos Islands, about 1,000 km offshore, shaped Charles Darwin's thinking on evolution.
