Belize

The only officially English-speaking country in Central America, and one of its least densely populated: barely over 400,000 people share a coast guarding the Belize Barrier Reef, the second-largest coral reef system on Earth, and the Great Blue Hole, a 300-metre-wide sinkhole visible from space.

Blue for the People's United Party, red for the opposition United Democratic Party: the only flag built from two rival parties' colours. The coat of arms includes a mahogany tree, two woodcutters, a sailing ship, and the motto Sub Umbra Floreo.
